In the brief time this group has been together, they've managed to distinguish themselves in the Chicago independent music scene, playing regularly at top venues such as Beat Kitchen, Elbo Room, and the Double Door. In September 2003, chosen from a pool of over 165 bands, Band Called Pharisee won the Paramount Pictures School of Rock, Battle of the Bands Competition, earning them a performance on the local CBS Morning Show, and a grand prize of $1000.00.
In 2004, BCP was a semi finalist in the Dismakers Midwest Independent Music Series.
Currently, the band is one of 3 U.S.A. Finalists competing in the Emergenza Live Music Festival. Working through the ranks of about 7000 bands worldwide, they are 1 of only 20 bands that will compete for the International Emergenza title at the Taubertal Open Air Festival taking place in Rothenburg Germany on August 12-14.
