Bio

BD Mylo and the Go Daddys reside in a musical place where the tidewaters of the Mississippi wash up at the foot of Beale Street. Fusing blues, soul, rock and jazz into a style uniquely their own, this 5-piece group delivers with a heartfelt passion of artists on a mission, taking audiences on their personal musical trip through the roots of American music with a fresh, innovative sound that has attained recognition up and down the eastern seaboard.

BD Mylo and the Go Daddys is fronted by an alluring northern-yet-southern belle who’s captivating vocals and riveting songwriting talents bare proof that big things really do come in little packages. Blessed with a distinctive voice unlike any before her, BD’s soul-stirring melodies and gut-bucket growls add sustenance to the Go Daddys’ powerful sound, creating a surprisingly new, invigorating line up that has captured listeners by surprise. The group formed in 2003, shortly after BD gained enough courage to introduce herself to her then neighbor, Rich “Uncle Monster” Facchinei, after years of listening to the sound of soul music percolating from the garage next door. An unlikely recruit, BD’s arresting vocal style meshed perfectly with the musical sensibilities of everyone in the room, and it wasn’t long before old song charts and new inspiration began to flow. BD’s invitation into the brotherhood broke all age and gender barriers, igniting an extraordinary kinship that is evident both on and off stage. The relationship has formed a perfect union, blending a clever recipe of modern grooves atop a foundation of old-school roots that entrances an ageless audience.

The band’s compelling stage presence and infectious songs have attracted much attention by promoters and club owners, sharing the musical bill with artists such as Grammy Award Winner Koko Taylor, W.C. Handy Award-Winner Shemekia Copeland, Tony Trishka, Paul Cebar & The Milwaukeans, Mike Gulden, Georgie Bonds, Deb Callahan, Commander Cody, Entrain and beloved blues sensation Billy Hector. The band has enjoyed growing popularity, playing prominent venues such as the World Café Live and North By Northwest as well as performing at major festivals such as Greater Philadelphia Rock Rhythm and Blues Fest and the Campjam in the Pines Music Festival. Their 2004 debut CD “I Can’t Lose”, an independent release that pays tribute to the raw, less digitalized vibe of Memphis blues and Chicago swing, has gained positive review with regular airplay on Z88.9 FM. With much anticipation, the band is currently working on a sophomore project that pays respects to Latin and rock influences that BD promises will “raise a church roof”.
