"The Year of the BeComing"

Some call 2008 the year of new beginnings
but singing sensation Be, the
femme fatale, has renamed it the year of
The Becoming. The triple threat artist,
backed by Frontline Productions and
BuffBoo Music has a number of tricks up her
sleeve and promises this will be a year to
remember.
This weekend, Be brings her trademark
sassiness to Charlie’s Club, East Bay St.,
where she will perform her current hit
“Good Lovin’” and give a preview of things
to come at “A Celebration of Life, Love and
a Tribute to Fallen Soldiers” headlined by
Reggae hit-maker Demarco.
The year of the Be-coming
Songstress to perform her hit
‘Good Lovin’ at Charlie’s Club
The concert, to be staged
by Black Carpet
Entertainment is guaranteed
to be the premier entertainment
highlight of the month
of February — no questions
asked.
Be, whose name is Bodine
Johnson, teased The
Bahamas and the Caribbean
with ‘One’, a sincere and
infectious song destined to
be a ring tone phenomenon,
and more so an International
heavy hitter. Think one
phrase, “I love you …” Now
she’s back to give everyone a
little bit of “Good Lovin’”.
After its official release
just four weeks ago, ‘Good
Lovin’ on the Jamdown
Riddim debuted at number
three on 100 Jamz’s
Bahama Hot Ones.
So far, she has graced the
stages of the Baker Boys’
Dancefest featuring Bad
Gyal Cecile, Movado, and
Lady Saw, at Black Carpet
Entertainment’s ‘Love and
Affection’ headlined by
recording artist Pressure
and opened for Taurus
Riley.

Bio

Bodine ‘Be’ Johnson has been an entertainer for as long as she can remember having evolved from being a poet into a writer, television and radio producer and host, model, actress, designer, spokeswoman and businesswoman.

Her music, heavily inspired by The Caribbean (for obvious reasons) is at times a mixture of Jazz vocals and Reggae rhythms and at others saucy commentary on life and relationships set to high tempo Dancehall and Soca beats. Then at other times it is somber and moody reflecting the not so happy side of love. All in all, this drama diva cuts no corners and tells it like it is..

BE is just the BeGinning of a new breed of Bahamian Entertainment. Fearless, Ambitious and Focused, This Bahamian Bombshell has had her songs downloaded in such places as France, Germany, the Netherlands, Jamaica, Italy, and the Caribbean. With three songs topping the Bahamian music charts. She has performed on the same stages as some of Reggae's heavy hitters such as Buju Banton, Chuck Fender, Elephant Man, Beenie Man, Tessanne Chin, KyMani Marley, Bad Gyal CeCile, Pressure, Taurus Riley, Demarco and many more including Sheila Ray Charles (daughter of Jazz Legend Ray Charles).

Signed to Frontline Productions and in conjunction with BuffBoo Records, Be has released two songs on Reggae Riddim Compilation Albums The CopyCat Riddim (One) and The Promise Riddim (I Don't Want You Anymore) and is working on a full length album.

Since releasing her debut single ‘One’, on the CopyCat Riddim Compilation Album in 2007, Be’s popularity has spread nationwide and she is stretching into the Caribbean with her music being played in Jamaica, Guyana, Grenada, Miami, New York and many other countries and cities.

Her release ‘I Don’t Want You’ on BuffBoo Record’s Promise Riddim has been ranked among the Top 40 by Captain Kirk of the Starfleet Music Pool, listed among the Top 50 downloads of the Masspool DJ Association, and has been downloaded as far as France, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, and South America while simultaneously hitting the Top of the Bahamian Music Charts.
