Bearstronaut

part New-Wave, part Britpop, part Electro.
Formed in 2007, Bearstronaut has played all over New England and earned the 2008 Boston Music Award for "College Band of the Year." In 2010, Bearstronaut was nominated for the Boston Phoenix's Best Music Poll in the "New Act", and in 2011, after a lineup change, they were nominated for "Song of the Year." The year did not end there, however, as they were listed as one of CMJ's Top Bands To See at the 2011 CMJ Music Festival, released a 7'' for their song "Moniker" on Vanya Records, and got the nomination for "Best Electronic Act" at the Boston Music Awards. Their self-released album "Satisified Violence" was named best local album of 2011 by the Boston Globe. They have played with such acts as Passion Pit, Surfer Blood, The Field, Body Language, Japandroids, Dragonette, Tigercity, Health, Araab Muzik, and Pictureplane.

Following their time in Austin, TX for SXSW, Bearstronaut began self producing their next release. In November, they will put out their next EP, PARADICE on Vanya Records. After they won "Best Electronic Act" in the Boston Phoenix's Best Music Poll 2012, they were picked as an official 2012 CMJ Artist.
