BeatDefectors is a group of old school raised-new school practiced, emcees and producers, with influences ranging from all genres of Music, but specifically east and 3rd coast hiphop flavors. The core of the production unit is comprised of Katharsis and Carl T, who have been making music together for 15 years, and additional collaborative efforts from group members. With self taught and equally self evident skills we have been a mainstay in the underground Austin Hip Hop community for almost 2 decades. Emcees include everyone in the group. We have appeared live and collaborated on tracks with local artists including Sam Escalante,Emcee, DOS, Shaleik (the Alliance) BrokeBread, JoeAverage, Bavu Blakes, Global, Jade (Midget Minor),Haps, Flynn, Irrelevant, Garbage Man, Pens and Needles, Juan Bautista of Melanoma and many others.
Currently we have been focusing on our 1st official releases which is a dual effort with the first solo release of Katharsis': 'The Troubled Times' and PB's: 'Running Through The Trenches'
We didn't like what we heard on the radio, so we took matters into our own hands.
