Beatnik Rose CD Release Party
Barrie is fast becoming the motherland of musical talent, with Beatnik Rose joining the ranks of up & comers that are breaking into the music scene with a vengeance! The band launched its first self-titled album for a packed house during a CD release party at Music Pro, with guests enjoying a rockin' live performance and refreshments. The CD was the result of lead vocalist, Jennifer Day's dream to record "Boston", and after doing so with fellow band members and music producer Jesse Richard, they expanded into a full length album, bringing 'Beatnik Rose' into full bloom! Beatnik Rose & 54* 40/ Concert tonight in Barrie

Barrie's own Beatnik Rose opens for the iconic Canadian band, 54* 40 at a concert tonight. Beatnik Rose burst on the local music scene earlier this year, bringing considerable talent and songwriting skills to the release of the trio's first self-titled CD.
Since then they've appeared on television, and performed at festivals and fundraisers around the area.
Vancouver's 54* 40 marks its 30 anniversary with national tour, a new record called Lost in the City and a recent hall of fame induction.
The band rose to national fame in the early eighties and has gone on to produce several best-selling classic rock albums.
The four musicians produced a number of hits -- Nice to Love You; Ocean Pearl; Lies to Me -- in the '90s and more in an earlier decade.
In Barrie, 54* 40 will be performing a mix of new material and favourite tunes from the past.
The concert takes place tonight at the Mansion Niteclub, located at 34 Dunlop St. E.
Doors open at 8 p.m. and Beatnik Rose is set to take the stage at 9 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance, available at The Mansion, Music Pro and online at www.livingedge.ca,or $35 at the door. - Barrie Examiner

Christmas 2011 is filled with private functions and special appearances.
The songs on the album are a collaboration of the talents of all the members of the group.
Jennifer Day: Poetic Heritage + Natural Musicality = Outstanding Power songs . She comes from a long line of poetic women and began writing poetry at an early age.
After studying classical guitar in her mid teens, poetry became song. She recorded her first album “First Fruits” at age 19. Her sophomore album “Building the Core” was released in 2003 and still receives radio play in Canada.
She is currently working on her third album as a member of Beatnik Rose to be released in the Spring of 2011.
Jennifer has been playing and singing original and cover material for radio jingles, live on radio, in bars, restaurants, outdoor events and festivals, conferences, youth events and theater for over 15 years.
Jesse Richard: Talented multi-instrumentalist and music producer. Jesse studied guitar under Don Ross. He has been featured on many recordings playing Bass, Mandolin, Banjo, and Guitar. He is also coveted as a stand-in musician for many well know musical acts.
Jason MacNeill: Rock and classic rock specialist. He has been writing and playing professionally for over 20 years. Jason is a rhythm and lead guitar player. He is most at home when playing both original and cover material in recordings and live in bars, restaurants, private and corporate functions.
