Beatrx

Being a twenty something living in Brighton on the south coast of the UK, it was impossible to miss the huge surge of interest in chillout music that came with the advent of bands like Air and Groove Armada. Finally the dancing herds had tunes to wind down to and the idea for Beatrx was born. At the same time technology allowed the sounds of the world to be captured, manipulated and merged with the drum sounds of a TB808 and a few soft synths. Bands like Boards of Canada and Four-Tet projected the more experimental end of the spectrum, and bands like Clue to Kalo and Manitoba brought in just enough live and envorinmental madness to maintain interest. Lemonjelly arrived with nostalgic charms, playing beatiful childhood melodies that rose and fell like a dance anthem. Beatrx sits within this, but brings powerful emotion derived from love, grief, joy and sadness. Simple tunes that can make you run or cry. Beatrx has now moved to the sun kissed shores of Western Australia and is developing a live set to present to the world.
