"The Great Unsigned"

Memphis' Classic Rock 103 has set out to find "The Great Unsigned" -- a title bestowed upon the best independent artist based upon airtime, DJ selection, and listener requests. The show has garnered such popularity that it has developed into a full-fledged Memphis music competition. Beau Davidson's "Memphis Afternoon" is among this season's favorites. The winner of the competition will perform at the 2006 Beale Street Music Festival with such artists as B.B. King, Blues Traveler, Jason Mraz, among others. - Rock 103/Memphis

Bio

THE MEMPHIS REVOLUTION

Memphis' legendary music scene has been home to many notable entertainers. The sounds that stewed in the Stax and Sun studios from the 1950s through the 1970s defined what came to be known as the genuine Memphis sound. Since the late-70s, however, the number of hit songs emerging from this locale have declined.

Enter Beau Davidson, a native Memphian who combines Memphis soul with Hollywood flair. Raised in the traditions of gospel music and those embodied by Elvis Presley, Al Green, Booker T. and the M.G.'s, and Otis Redding, Beau has written a repertoire of music reminiscent of the old Memphis sound infused with modern inflections that uniquely unify his many disparate influences.

Beau began studying voice in Memphis with Bob Westbrook, who coached him and Justin Timberlake at the same time. He then pursued classical studies at Northwestern University, moving to Los Angeles shortly after graduation. His first live show in Los Angeles was held on November 11, 2005 at the reknowned Key Club on the Sunset Strip. Over the next few months, Beau will be appearing throughout Los Angeles and at various music festivals across the country.

Beau is now poised to take the music industry by storm, recording much of his music at Chartless Studios in Malibu. Through his talent, Beau is effectively crafting a classic sound with an individualism that celebrates the merits of musical authenticity while embracing commercial appeal.

"Without a song, the road would never bend. Without a song, a man ain't got a friend. Without a song, the day would never end, so I'll keep singing a song."
