Bio

Introducing Beau Young, singer, songwriter, musician - and, coincidently - World Champion Longboard Surfer.

Having won the title in 2000, Beau was ranked by ASP at # 1 and World Longboard Champion for the 2nd time in 2003. This talented son of surfing great Nat Young has walked tall amongst surfing elite.

But now we get to see a different side of this striking young adventurer.

Inspired by his good friend Ben Harper, Beau has turned his energy to his love of music – and now we have the dedicated musician, the philosophical muse... with the songs, the beautiful songs.

For Beau, the beauty, power and energy of the waves have always influenced his soul and his heart – now expressed so poignantly in his music.

“For me, surfing and music have always been intertwined”, says Beau. “The rhythm of the ocean and the musical wave have many similarities…and music gives me the voice that I have never been able to express through my surfing”.

With friends from afar as Florida to his home town of Byron Bay, Beau has now achieved another career milestone - the recording of his debut album Waves of Change.

“Waves of Change" has a cool groove and profound lyrics. With Beau on vocals and acoustic guitar are fellow musicians Paul “D.C.” Di Giacomo (Ghostwriters) on bass, Lee Maloney (Alex Lloyd, Diesel) on drums and percussion, and Mark Collins on banjo.

The first year…

Beau has experienced an incredible year with his music. From the release of his debut album, Beau has toured to Japan (twice), Italy, France and Spain. In Australia, Beau has done his first headline tour of the East Coast and has just recently performed at the Queenscliff Music Festival, Homebake, the Feel Good Festival at Luna Park on New Year’s Day. He looks forward to playing for you.
