Beck's Grammy is named for their desire to make creative music with somewhat less regard necessarily to genre and production quality but with aim to give to the songs an identity and a purity that can be shared by those listening. Singer/songwriter Jamin C Shepherd, formerly of Fatty Poindexter, started this project in early 2015 as an outlet for his desire to make more electronic music as opposed to his usual bare guitar, voice, keys, and sometimes harmonica. Some of that style remains in Beck's Grammy, but there is a more experimental quality to the music blending in synthesizer swells and up-tempo electronic beats.
