Bio

Songwriting began for Beck at the age of nineteen when she first picked up the guitar. Fascinated by the act of vibrating strings together, music very quickly became a tool for personal expression. Niece to Terry Fielding (co-writer of the 1972 number #1 hit “The Whale”), songwriting is a family legacy and a natural undertaking for Beck to bring music and words together.

Over the years, Beck has developed an incredibly unique guitar style, percussive, powerful and dynamic. Local Sydney musos quote her as having “the best right hand in the business!” Her voice is well revered by those who have heard it.

Radically inspired by the deep reflections of Missy Higgins’, “Sound of White”, Beck relocated from the nations capital to develop her musical career in Sydney. She has independently released her first EP, “Hurricane” at Sydney’s premiere music venue, The Basement. Go to Beck’s music page for a full listing of on-line stores.

“Beck is a magnificent storyteller who channels her life experiences into beautiful songs that are so wonderful to listen. It is a unique style that is both brilliant and instructive.” – Pete Scully, President of the Songwriting Society of Australia
