Beefe's fun lyrics and catchy hooks blended with his sensual raspy vocals, provide his audience with a melodic unforgettable hip-hop sound. Beefe began writing for other artists, but became the forefront for his music when others could not display the passion and creativity his lyrics yearned for.

As an independent artist, Beefe did everything he could to make a name for himself. His goal: success and by any means necessary! Beefe was born Irin Johnson on February 3rd, 1980 in Gary, Indiana. Beefe and his family relocated to Milwaukee, WI to escape the abusive hands of his alcoholic father. As a child he felt the need to escape the harsh realities of his life’s experiences, so this became his release and the motivation for his writing. Beefe did not only write songs, but he also wrote poems, raps and was so inspired by “Boys in The Hood” he decided to write a movie.

Beefe’s first single “Baseball Bat” landed a spot on a national radio station with heavy rotation by the request of his fans. This recognition was the motivation he needed to continue to work at his goal of becoming a national recording artist. When this same radio station held a contest for local artists to win a record deal with a major distribution company, Beefe knew this was the turn he needed on the road to success. He beat out 40 contestants and had the most online play hits of the final 2 artists. This success landed him his current deal with E1 Entertainment (formally known as Koch Records).

Beefe’s fun lyrics and dance beats keep his fans wanting to hear more! His music gives them life and something that keeps their hands clapping and feet moving. Beefe has opened for artists such as T.I., Jeezy, Kyeshia Cole, Fabulous, Eve, Shorty Lo, Rick Ross, Plies, Young Dro, Gorilla Zoe, Dorrough, Hurricane Chris, and Jazzy Phae.

Beefe just completed his first album as a national recording artist. His first single on E1 Entertainment is scheduled to be released in the third quarter of 2010.
