"BEG the band to perform here"

Documented by The Rayne Tribune newspaper:

BEG the band to perform here

"You can beg all you want but the members of the band known as BEG won’t tell you what the words or letters signify. The plain truth is that only the lead vocalist who originally came up with the name knows what the three capital letters mean. And, at the moment, he isn’t telling. You can ask the band members themselves when they appear locally at the Boar’s Nest on August 30. Tommy Bageux of Egan is the closed mouth lead vocalist and guitarist. Tiger Daigle, a Rayne native who now lives in Iota, is lead guitarist and backup vocalist. David Guidry of Rayne plays the bass guitar and is also a backup vocalist. Rounding out BEG is drummer Eric Pierret of Lafayette. Their manager is Barry Broussard. The band in other form or another, has been performing for the past four years. This foursome has been together since April of 2002, says Broussard. They perform modern rock and roll, ranging from heavy to light. “It’s not kill your mommy music, though” notes one of the band members. The group released a demo in September 2002 with four original tunes by Bageux, who writes all the band’s original lyrics. The band recently produced a CD album at MaxTraxx Studios in Crowley. The CD is now at the printers. BEG has performed from Baton Rouge, La to Houston, TX and is looking to play an even more expanded region. If you’d like to know more about the foursome, check out their website at www.begweb.com" (The Rayne Tribune, 2003)

"Times Picks"

"Xtreme rock X105.9 FM will celebrate its first birthday saturday July 12 2003, with a party at Grant street dancehall. BEG will also be joining the frey. This band, based out of the Rayne area, is another alt-rocker set that plays a little more hard-tinged rock at times and some sensitive modern rock at others, with a lead singer who sounds like a cross between that of the late Lane Stayley of Alice in Chains and Scott Stapp of Creed." "Louisiana rock merchants"

"The powerful stadium ready rock band BEG from south Louisiana in the USA license the energetic rock anthem " Drab" from their stunning " Don't Make Me Home" album. This inventive grunge-esq track goes from powerful riffs to more riffs to full on rock guitar solo. Beg don't mess about and deliver proper melodic but dynamite rock in a sort of Pearl Jam crossed with Audioslave on a picnic with Sepultura, early Stone Temple Pilots and Nirvana. Beg don't need to do any begging when it comes to power, energy and infectious dark melodies. They deliver no nonsense music with a brave tale behind the lyrics of energetic lead singer Tommy Baguex. The other band members are: Eric Pierret ( drums), Tiger Daigle ( Lead Guitar/vocals) and David Guidry ( Bass and vox). Bio

BEG is an Alternative rock band from the Crowley, La area and has been performing live for around 3 years now, and is still continuing to expand their horizons. BEG has a very unique style with great dynamics and a type of dramatic emotion of no other written in each song. BEG has one album currently out called "don't make me home..." which was independently released in late 03' and has gained air play on local radio stations not to mention a track from their album is on a compilation CD called "Elevation" in the United Kingdom. The band is currently in the works of recording a new album due later this year of 04'.

"every song is different, almost as though they were written by numerous song writers from different melodic styles, the different tones as well as the well thought out hooks in the songs make the debut album headed one direction, straight ahead"

………biggest fan!

The songs reflect on the life and times of the lead singer, and is expressed in every ounce of energy that he puts into writing the songs. The band plagued with instability, "trial and error musicians" finally found the four ingredients to make a great flavor of music for everyone to bond to and enjoy. The songs are complete when every emotion is exhausted to its fullest and most thought out extent from every member of BEG. The textures can be seen in visualizations laid out in the songs, the rage can be felt in the lyrics and the expressive vocal harmonies, and violent as well as methodical music can be heard in great detail in every last song! The ten-track blend of rock and roll has a heavy alternative influence and makes for a wonderful, talked about debut CD!
