Bio
Beggars & Saints are from Seattle, Washington. The band came together after singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, David Dunkley wrote and released the debut album "seeker < fool < sage" in 2009.
The recording showcases varied influences: West African rhythms, American roots music, Delta blues, Rock, Folk, Funk and Neo-Soul elements.
Conceptually, the album is inspired by the archetype of the hero's journey and the lyrics draw influence from the spirituality of the far east and in the redemption of the blues.
Since the album's release, Beggars & Saints have organically grown and distilled into a band of talented musicians whose fantastic live shows span a musical spectrum from high-energy funk, soul, world and rock flavorings to beautiful folk and alt-country flavors.
Spring of 2011 has Beggars & Saints returning to the studio to record their second album.
