Abolish the clichés of death and hatred and you are left with a different entity. Behind Lies Ruin, a fitting name suited for a metalcore band that is transitioning to a new age of existence. In this new age violence and hatred are no longer viable methods of protest. Behind Lies Ruin’s message is unique, not taken from their forefathers. This progressive message is contained in an exclusive sound of melodic guitars and keyboard which are then complimented with rhythmic drums and powerful vocals. Behind Lies Ruin produces a rare sound courtesy of its’ cultural diversity and influences. The band member’s heritages come from all parts of the world…Poland, Germany, Eritrea, Finland and the United States. Inspiration is derived from bands like In Flames, Soil Work, Fear Factory, As I Lay Dying, Unearth and other bands that are not necessarily metal. These young men, who hail from Grand Rapids, Michigan have a goal to make a difference in their music scene. With the release of their EP ‘The Journey’, Behind Lies Ruin has the potential for success, turning heads initiating popularity.
