Bio

Crossing over styles to take the best out of pop/rock/easy listening, jazz and modern country, Bekahlee’s debut album does just that with honest lyrics, simple tuneful melodies, warm harmonies, and dynamic instrumentation. You can hear a blend of influences, (Norah Jones, Cheryl Crow, Jewel, Kate Minor, and Carol King), which create a sound that’s familiar yet original, a sound that draws you into her pure vocals and there connects with your heart.

From the rhythmic, light hearted call to simplicity of “Talk With You”, the intimate, peaceful “You Free Me”, to the simple, sweet, yet passionate love songs of “How God Meant Us To Be” and “More Of You”, Bekahlee’s heart felt songs trace the journey of her response to life, love, and our Creator. The urgency of “Far to important” and the expression of torment found in “Rescue Me” allow us a glimpse into some of the most challenging times of Bekahlee’s experience. While
“The Possible”, “One Life” and “Renovators Dream” all speak of the souls need for transformation throughout life’s’ challenges and seasons. The smooth sound of “Sweet Sweet Love” and the rocky “Ship at Sea” by songwriter Phil Chambers compliment the albums dynamic and bring assurance that the one who is greater has it all in hand.
Bekahlee loves to worship the Lord and has written a number of worship songs that she likes to integrate into her performances when possible.

Bekahlee has always loved music and has studied and performed music all her life in various situations. Classical piano was her first love and singing was like speaking in her family, Bek has since made her way through Tertiary studies and worked with producer Roger Corbett to complete her debut album “Free Me” which was released early in 2007.
Bek has performed with a number of bands including Scottfree (covers/originals), Pan Fried and Dangerous (Big Band), also Concert bands/ brass bands mainly performing Jazz Standards. Bek has spent the last few years songwriting, leading worship and working in the studio, not to mention getting married and having two kids.
With the release of her album, Bekahlee is now re-entering the music scene and hopes to be performing regularly in clubs, festivals and other venues.
