Bio

Bella Ciao plays retro Italiano swing and pop from the late ‘50s as well as today's hottest Italian-American hits in a mambolicious, fun-filled, all-ages show that has everyone livin' la dolce vita.

Bella Ciao’s expansive repertoire includes such classics as Tu Vuo Fa L’Americano, Nessuno, Mambiambo and Marina as well as other timeless favorites including the Pasta Song, Blue Italian Skies and Tintarella di Luna.

Along with the great music, Bella Ciao’s fabulous show includes a pizza-dough-tossing contest where the audience decides the winner.

The six-piece Bella Ciao band is fronted by the incredible Mimi Lee Ferrari who is reminiscent of the Italiana pop divas of the period. Instrumentation includes accordion/vocals, drums/vocals, bass/vocals, sax/vocals.

Bella Ciao has performed at:
Reno Italian festival (5 times)
The North Beach festival (twice)
Stockton Asparagus festival (twice)
Pacifica FogFest (twice)
The Union St. Festival
San Francisco Italian festival (headliners three years straight)
San Jose Italian festival (three times)

…and many more

In 2005, Bella Ciao signed with the prestigious Festa Records label and on September 1 of that year, released the CD, Legends of the Italian Lounge. Two songs from that highly successful CD were placed on the Grammy Nomination Ballot!

Their second CD, Festivus Italiano, was released in June, 2009 and the hit song Mambiambo made it onto the 2009 Grammy nomination ballot.

Bella Ciao's hit, the Pasta Song, was used in a national TV commercial for carrabba's Italian restaurant.
