BELLAMY ROSE: Tracks
The fact that quirky Americana group Bellamy Rose thanks "Deadwood" pimp Al Swearengen in its liner notes is automatically cool and deserves a temporary hall pass.
Using traditional instruments (such as mandolin and harmonica), electric flourishes (including keytar!) and vocal harmonies, the Meridian quintet cooks up a gleefully oddball mix of folk, blues, rock, bluegrass and orneriness. The vibe is laid back, sort of like early String Cheese Incident. Bellamy Rose's songs are eccentric and eclectic enough that it may be tough to totally "get" this band unless you see them live. This CD encourages that.

I really enjoyed listening to Kentucky Derby this early afternoon. The vocals are delivered with a strong performance and you really feel completely enveloped in the song. The instrument arrangements are outstanding and really ‘paint a picture'.
The musical performance is strong of course and it is a very tight recording. You are obviously very experienced as it shows in your work. Your EPK is put together nicely and credentials impressive.

Bellamy Rose is an Americana band from Boise, Idaho who began their journey in December 2006 with two voices and two guitars. Their unique style and approach is a classic crossover mix between bluegrass, alternative country, rock and blues. Vocal harmonies and original songwriting are the hallmarks of this quintet. Each member brings a diverse musical style and energy that is dynamic and always a crowd pleaser. Many fans have commented on their music as "Comfortably Different". The band is Marc Grubert, Brian Hoffman, MK Rosen, and James Adams. April 2008 saw the release of their first CD entitled "Tracks". Currently, they are hard at work on their soon to be released dynamic effort they call "Midnight Freight".
