"Review - Iconoplastic - Ben Everyman"

“While Everyman’s folky guitars and background vocals are definitely something to be admired, it is his insanely witty lyrics that kept me paying complete attention to his music… This guy certainly knows how to write a song and some musicians could take a note from him.” - Grayowl Point

Bio

Ben Everyman, singer/songwriter based in Vancouver, BC, squeezes guitar, foot percussion and a quirky vocal style into a refreshing blend of folk and country, usually laden with run-on sentences, sardonic wit and simple melodies that stick to the roof of your mouth.

“…he tears down songwriting conventions and hammers up his own fascinating musical vision in their place.”
- Rachel Sanders, Exclaim!

Ben is just an average guy, the kind of guy you’d swear you’ve met before, and has been mistaken for countless celebrities, musicians and distant friends from long-forgotten hometowns (no he’s not Bill’s brother from Moosejaw). This Everyman quality is apparent in his strange and familiar music which often skips across genres like a carefree child exploring the depths of its unfettered imagination.

The albums Iconoplastic (2011) and Deprecado (2012) both received national press and became college radio favorites charting among the top ten folk albums across western Canada. Ben is also an occasional artist and writer whose projects (such as the near best-selling book No Fate But What We Make) perspectify normality.
