Jake Davenport, resident of Nashville, Tenn., and formerly of Fulton, will be touring this summer as a drummer with Ben Gallaher and his band of Nashville.
Ben Gallaher, Nashville country music artist and Pennsylvania native, will launch his summer tour, “No Strings Attached,” with a six-week run of dates starting May 3 in Warrendale, Pa., and stretching across the East Coast with a tour finale June 6 – 9, in Nashville at the CMA Music Festival.
Sponsored by Snagajob, the nation’s largest hourly employment marketplace for job seekers and employers and headquartered in Richmond, Va., No Strings Attached is Gallaher’s first official tour and will feature his full band playing music from his self-titled album, as well as new releases.
Jake is the son of former Fulton residents Liz Weske and Gary Davenport.
He has been living in the Nashville area attending college and pursuing his passion in the music business.
His passion for music started when he was very young.
His uncle, Rob Weske, also formerly of Fulton, was a big influence on him, according to his mother.
“His uncle introduced him to all kinds of music – Rolling Stones, Beatles, etc at a very young age. Lots of history about the bands, too,” she said. “All I can think to tell you about Jake is that he is a self-taught musician; plays drums, guitar and harmonica. He was in many a garage band through high school. He is also a singer. And, he received the first ever scholarship from G. R. Bodley High School for ‘Thinking outside the Box.’”
He went to school in Tempe, Ariz., after he graduated to become a sound engineer, she said, adding “A really saturated field.”
He attended and completed a program at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences.
“He is a bit of a late bloomer, going back to college at 25 and is thinking of majoring in Music Production,” his mother said. “Nashville has been a great fit for him.”
“I have played in countless groups all over the country. I think here in Nashville I’ve really found my groove and a great bunch of guys to play with,” Jake said. “I am not sure if music has ruined or saved my life. Maybe a little of both. Bands often come and go like the seasons. So, I am hoping we can persevere and keep playing together.”

It’s been almost a year since we last caught up with Camp Hill’s Ben Galllaher — and in that year, he’s gone from playingSaraBozich.com Happy Hour events to big time gigs — like opening for country star Brantley Gilbert in front of 6,000 people.
Gallaher has also gone from playing bars as a one-man solo acoustic act around Central PA and Nashville to fronting a full band – which he will bring to Buck Wild’s Rode House on May 16 as part of his “No Strings Attached Tour.”
“I’m so excited to get back to Buck’s and back to Pennsylvania — that’s my fanbase,” Gallaher said in a recent telephone interview. “Everyone has been behind me since day one and it’s so cool to come back — and no one has ever heard me with a full band so I’m hoping we can get a lot of people out.”
Gallaher is no stranger to playing Buck Wild’s stage in front of a full house – he served as an opening act for nationally touring country artists including Ashton Shepherd, Craig Campbell, Colt Ford, Jon Pardi and Frankie Ballard. But now that it is his own show, he’s even more excited to play for his hometown fans. - Blog

Ben Gallaher is a singer, songwriter, guitar player, and performer based out of Nashville, Tennessee. After one year at Penn State University, he transferred to Nashvilles Belmont University where hell be a junior in the fall of 2012, majoring in Entertainment Industry Studies and minoring in Music Business.
I grew up in a small town in central Pennsylvania with two older brothers, and country music was all we listened to in our household. I love the stories in the songs, the originality in the country music entertainers, and the energy coming out of every guitar player. As my music passion grew, I started playing the drums and soon after that I began playing guitar, at age six. I felt that guitar just fit me better, and I ran with it.
Ben Gallaher Live packs a memorable punch of country music with a slight edge. While the strings are being bent up and down the neck of the 6-string, Ben writes and sings songs that the common man can relate to.
The energy that fills me on stage is something I just cant explain. When the crowd is into the music, and Im giving it right back to them, something inside just takes control and gives me that high-on-life feeling. Its unreal!
Whether its in downtown Nashville at Tootsies, Rippys, Margaritaville, or in Pennsylvania at Backwoods Bar or the State Correctional Institute, Ben owns the stage and makes sure every listener leaves with a piece of country. The young singer/songwriter just finished his first album featuring nine songs he wrote and two that he co-wrote. Playing acoustic guitar, electric guitar, 6-string banjo, and mandolin, Ben Gallahers self-titled record is available now on iTunes.
When Ben is not singing, writing, or performing, youll find him fishing at the nearest lake or stream, or counting the days until buck season. As an Eagle Scout, Ben has a passion for giving back to his community.
