Ben Schiffer

BandRockAcoustic

Ben combines heart-felt lyrics about love, life, family, and home with soothing whispery vocals. His style of guitar playing always turns heads with his original style of percussive plucking and finger-picking.

Biography

When Ben was 10, he struck up a conversation with the manager of the legendary B.B. King while waiting for King's set to begin at the Blue Note in NYC Letting on that King was his favorite artist, to his amazement he was granted a private visit with the blues icon in his dressing room. As Ben sat on his hero's knee, the two - a musician for the ages and a wide-eyed young boy - talked about the blues, guitar, and life. Later taking the stage for his first number, King acknowledged to the audience Ben's passion for music as "an inspiration."
Ben Schiffer is now a 19-year old rising singer/songwriter in New York and has not lost that passion for performing. He has been captivating audiences with his very special blend of melody, guitar style, and introspective lyrics. His music speaks to the audience as he bares his soul. He has established himself as a regular performer at the legendary Bitter End, which has been home to artists from Bob Dylan to Billy Joel to Gavin DeGraw. He has appeared at many other venerable clubs across NY and has shared the stage with veteran bass player Jeff Ganz (Chuck Berry, Johnny Winter). Ben is currently preparing to take his unique style on the road.

Lyrics

See You Around

Written By: Ben Schiffer

The bar is closing
They locked the door
They said they'd miss me
What am I leaving for?

Where do I go? What do I do?
Why I am I freaking?
I was so sure I'd be okay
Now that I'm leaving
I can't deny what I feel
As I walk out the door
After all is said and done

So tonight
I'll say goodbye and hope my vision
Stays alright
So I can see if this decision was not right
I guess it's time to say goodbye now
Maybe I'll see you around

Time won't wait for
Me to change
It doesn't feel bad for
The curse of this age

Where do I go? What do I do?
Why I am I freaking?
I was so sure I'd be okay
Now that I'm leaving
I can't deny what I feel
As I walk out the door
After all is said and done

So tonight
I'll say goodbye and hope my vision
Stays alright
So I can see if this decision was not right
I guess it's time to say goodbye now
Maybe I'll see you around

So tonight
I'll say goodbye and hope my vision
Stays alright
So I can see if this decision was not right
I guess it's time to say goodbye now
Maybe I'll see you around
