Bio

Armed with a guitar, a notebook, and a heart full of adventure Benjamin Webb,is on a journey of discovery.

Involved with music for as long as he can remember, it took two recent bouts of Bells Palsy (facial paralysis) on each side of his face in the past two years for Ben to realize that life is what you make of it.

Hailing from the sleepy coastal town of Port Stephen’s - Australia, Benjamin packed his bags after wowing audiences up and down the east coast of Australia with his band “Ben and the Sea” and set off to find a new sound. His journey has taken him to over 15 countries in the past 12 months, playing shows throughout the Europe and the United Kingdom, to finally settle in Belgium to collect his thoughts and write his forthcoming album “This long old road...” The album is a 3 part concept that pays homage to some great songwriters like Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, and Jeff Buckley, whilst maintaining originality and an individualism.

“These songs are different to anything I’ve ever done before, it’s the sound and idea that I’ve always searched for, but could never really achieve until now.” Ben say’s of his latest endeavor; “The music I write now is a lot more laid back than ever before, as most of the songs were written in environments like a night train moving through the Czech republic, or whilst watching a sunset fall behind a Thai horizon…it was all during a time of great reflection.”

Embracing a digital age Ben has co-produced his album with renowned Australian producer Gareth Hudson, whilst they are both on either side of the world.

“I have a portable studio setup, which I have taken with me on my travels, and I send files to Gareth back in Australia and he add’s some magic and the album has taken shape from there. Its so amazing what we can do with technology these days, I can be sitting in my lounge room in
Brussels, whilst overseeing the string section in Gareth’s studio in Newcastle.”

Part One "A life outside..." is due Mid October with part two due early in the new year.
