Bennett Harris

Bennett Harris

BandBluesAcoustic

Bennett Harris specializes in fingerpicking pre-WWll style acoustic blues guitar, plays slide on an old National steel, blows harp and sings. Originals too!

Biography

Bennett Harris learned Piedmont fingerpicking from Rev.Gary Davis protege Ian Buchanan, and spent a great deal of time wood-shedding slide technique on National steel guitars. He has immersed himself in the blues stylings of the 1930s, including luminaries such as Blind Blake, Blind Boy Fuller, Willie Brown, Bessie Smith, Son House, et al. Bennett also presents original tunes which capture his own sense of humor and irony in a traditional sonic textural setting.
