Bennie Beanz

In a time when hip hop seems to be filled with Copycat artist with corporate crafted images the artist known as Bennie Beanz is a refreshing breath of life into hip hop.
Native to the north side of Jacksonville, Florida Bennie Beanz born Bernard Henderson II has been molding his artistry since a young age. Bennie first got his feet wet in middle school, when he used to write lyrics to music that he heard on radio and other places. He continued to hone his writing skills while also growing his musical craft as a drummer. His natural music talent and undeniable growth potential led him to being offered a music scholarship to Bethune-Cookman University. While playing in the University’s chorale Bennie was offered his first opportunity to record a verse for a classmate’s project. Since that first recording session Bennie has been on fire ever since.
His lyrical craftiness and authentic personality on record and in performance has allowed him to gain notoriety and build a steady buzz within the industry. His electrifying performance has given him the opportunity to perform at events such as Livewire 2006, Livewire 2007, the Source magazine’s “The Source of hip hop tour”, and Purple Ribbon’s Boom Boom room showcase, where he won the competition, and caught the eye of Purple Ribbon CEO and Multi-platinum selling artist Big Boi of Outkast.
Bennie’s Career doesn’t just consist of performing his own music. Since 2006 he’s also written music with upincoming artist as Dena Simone, Ryan Willis, Devin Baggs, Cardiak, and Young Phenom. Though hip-hop is his primary arena, he has extended his catalog by writing on such pop/R & B songs as Dena Simone’s Your Out of It, Get to The Point and Boyfriend, and Ryan Willis’s Drive Me Crazy.
