The best kept secret in music

Press

"Detroit Free Press"

"Motor City Journal: Ethnic, World Music Rips at Detroit Event - It was early Sunday morning at the Majestic Theater on Woodward Avenue, and lots of people were strutting, clapping and smiling to a hypnotically danceable song by Benny Cruz. The music was smoking . . . all night at the Majestic." - Bill McGraw

"Detroit Free Press"

"Not surprisingly, Eminem, Kid Rock, the White Stripes and the Funk Brothers top the list of national nominees for the 2003 Detroit Music Awards set for April 11 at the State Theatre in Detroit. But it's the . . . locals that are shaking up the ballot this year. Acts scoring multiple nominations include Benny Cruz (five in world music)." - Rachel May

"ArtMusicSmart"

"With 'Un Encuentro', Mark David Gottlieb [and Benny Cruz] created a very personal work consisting of music and words, songs and narration, which . . . mean a universe of experience and feelings. It really represents an encounter with life, and, using simple words, seems to tell the audience everything about human existence, childhood, love, death . . . and generates hope . . . 'Un Encuentro' deserves worldwide attention . . ." - Arthur H. Maute

"City of Farmington Hills"

" . . . thank you [Benny Cruz] for the wonderful concert at Art on the Grand. You added so much to the evening - excitement, great music and a terrific connection with the audience that truly made it a fun and wonderful night! . . . performance was top-notch. - Nancy Coumoundouros

"Michigan Hispanic Caucus"

"On behalf of the Michigan Hispanic Caucus, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you [Benny Cruz] on being the recipient of the 2004 Hispanic Lifetime Achievement Award.
