DANVILLE — Benny Jenkins is following the path some of the area’s best-known entertainers Dick Van Dyke, Gene Hackman, Donald O'Conner and others have walked for years.
Jenkins hopes to save the Fischer Theatre — one show at a time.
"The Fischer is a great place,” he said. “It may be a little rough, but it’s still very cool. We hope we’ll open up a new, younger audience to the Fischer and encourage younger people to get involved with it.”

Bio
Benny Jenkins bloodline as the name suggests features a couple family members, son Dylan on second guitar and brother Don on drums. Long time friend and player Todd Gallagher on standup stringbass is like next of kin and has played on and off with Benny for years. Although the band has recorded many CDs between them this is the first as a band. Benny has shared the stage and toured with; Savoy Brown, Anson Funderburgh & the rockets, James Harmon, Webb Wilder, Jason & the scorchers, Jimmy Hall, Chubby Checker and Cheap Trick to name a few. Benny lived and toured out of Nashville for 11 years before relocating back to east central Illinois south of Chicago. Festivals, car shows and large clubs are favorite haunts and are being booked for the 2013 year. We hope to see you at our shows, thanx, Benny
