Bio
Benny Sharoni is an Israeli-born tenor saxophonist, band leader, composer and arranger who has been a mainstay on the U.S. jazz scene. After emigrating to study at Berklee College of Music, Sharoni studied with jazz masters Charlie Banacos, Jerry Bergonzi and George Garzone before exploding onto the scene with his own unique brand of music. Fusing together classic influences of Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon and Steve Grossman, Sharoni flavors his music with Latin rhythms and an energetic drive that delights audiences worldwide.
Benny’s recent release, “Eternal Elixir”, has captured the hearts and ears of jazz listeners, reviewers and promoters worldwide, and has generated tremendous critical acclaim for this recording, culminating in his inclusion in the “top tens jazz acts of 2010” by the Boston Phoenix
