Ben Sadock

Ben Sadock

BandRockSinger/Songwriter

Ben Sadock writes electric piano-based songs with direct, catchy melodies, elegant chord changes, and subtly clever lyrics. The result is intimate and infectious, classic yet contemporary, simple yet elegant.

Biography

Ben draws on a wide range of influences, including 60s and 70s pop (The Beach Boys, Todd Rundgren, The Kinks), soul (Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder), singer-songwriters (Carole King, Paul Simon, Laura Nyro), and contemporary melodic rock (Ben Folds, Brendan Benson, Ron Sexsmith). Few contemporary artists produce such melodic, honest music.

Lyrics

Let Me Into Your Life

Written By: Ben Sadock

Verse 1:

Lock me in your locket
Put another one down (oh)
For another last round (oh)
Put me in your pocket
Tell the terrible truth (oh)
Leave another loose tooth in the naugahyde booth

Chorus 1:

Well you can do doo doodly do whatever you want to
But let me know if you should decide to want me to want you, cause I want you
To let me in…
Into your life before it's over

Verse 2:

You came in for a quickie
Like a sensitive swan (oh)
With your rubber boots on (oh)
The air was sweet and sticky
Like a licorice stick (oh)
But the sidewalk was slick and it made me feel sick

Chorus 2:

Well you can do doo doodly do whatever you want to
But as for me, I've made up my mind to want you to want me to want you
To let me into your life
Into your life before it's over and over

Bridge:

Despite the sinful life you've led
Remember what the good book said:
Thou shalt not steal
Thou shalt not kill
But if you go you surely will
Steal my heart and kill me too
'Cause I can't live without you
Thou shalt not kill
Thou shalt not steal
And I can't change the way I feel

Chorus 3:

So you can do doo doodly do whatever you want to
But if you break my heart I will die, and then I will haunt you, 'cause I want you
To let me into your life
Into your life before it's over and over and over
