Ben-Sity SPACE & RUSHCHICAGO’S HOTTEST MUSIC SENSATION! It wasn’t long ago that rap group Ben-Sity decided to set the pace and race to the top of Chicago’s music scene. With no visible or audible signs of short wind; Rush and Space effortlessly surpassed fellow runners with their 2007 first mix tape entitled Long Time Coming. Ben-Sity started in the early 1990’s, as childhood friends Jonathan ‘Rush’ Williams & Mario ‘Space’ Johnson, would write rhymes and freestyle in each other’s west-side homes.

Fast forward to summer of 2008 when Ben-Sity released their first anticipated album aptly titled, The High Five Club due to the group’s manner of celebrating accomplishment’s, setting trends, and breaking local barriers by simply high-fiving each other or as they say, “give me a Vince Vaughn,” after the Chicago- native actor. The High Five Club is a sonic opus of melodic hits, which bring the listener into an ambience of smoke filled caddies and urban life created in songs like: Grey Goose, Could It Be and Almost.

Progress continues for Ben-Sity and in sustaining their sound and knack for making head nodding music, in 2010 they released their next mix tape Back to the Basics. Last year, the group finished up The Royalty Family mix tape which was received favorably by many audiences. At present, Rush and Space are working on Da Project. This mix tape is sure to be some of their best work with a collection of harmonious hits sure to charm listeners, not to mention Rush’s solo mix tape 1 THIRD and Space’s solo mix tape My Life is a Movie.

Some of Ben-Sity’s most note-worthy accomplishments include being on local and college radio stations such as: UIC radio, DePaul radio, Power 92.3 mix show, 107.5 WGCI and B96 radio stations. The group has performed throughout the Chicago land area. You might have seen them at: The Double Door, Reggie’s Rock Club, Tini Martini, Navy Pier the Beat Kitchen, Cubby Bear, or Subterranean. Maybe you caught Ben-Sity at The House of Blues opening for Snoop Dogg, 2 Live Crew, Jasmine Sullivan, Young Jeezy as well as other major label artist.

Ben-Sity has been steadily working to accomplish their goals and dreams of making it in the music industry and sharing their talent with the world. Rush and Space are devoted to fulfilling their aspirations and with recognition and a strong fan base; this dream will be realized very soon. The buzz on the streets is getting louder and the aim of Ben-Sity is to get the world in their palms with creative sounds, witty topics, prestige, and integrity!
