"Nashville's Best Emerging Artists of 2014: Reader's Choice Poll"

The Paducah, KY native made his way to Nashville to take part in its thriving songwriter scene. Caldwell released his first EP "A Place to Be," in 2014. Caldwell's rich vocals lend themselves to the introspective edge many of his songs take on; all at once he occupies soul, blues, and folk, and handles it with John Legend-level suavity. However, despite the grace and dignity his music carries, Caldwell has, in our hearts, totally won first place in the "Cutest F*cking Song" with "Awkward Turtle." - The Deli Magazine: Nashville

If blues, soul and rock music are cousins sharing grand-parentage and similar DNA, then Bentley Caldwell is the equivalent of a family gathering, a joyous reunion and a celebration all rolled into one. It’s also a party where the hired band features Van Morrison, Otis Redding and Ray Charles leading The Asbury Dukes through some of the coolest music of the last 60 years. It is that timeless spirit that Bentley Caldwell manages to infuse his music with, and Mr Almost is a blend of soul dripping saxophones, funky grooves, bluesy riffs, cool Hammonds and Stax attacks, all threaded together so brilliantly that you can’t see the join.

It is the sound of trucker music bars blending into back street Chicago blues clubs which in turn become the sound of a rocking chair creaking on a back porch as the screen door slams, Mary’s dress sways and there is a distinct possibility that Roy Orbison is playing on the radio. It is the sound of an alternative, or at least fairly forgotten path that music took when it should have become the mainstream sound. It is the sound of a midnight ritual designed to re-animate the zombie corpse of the muse of music that mattered, still matters and will continue to matter, long after the current boy band fad has returned to a day job where the main concern is asking the customer if they want fries with that! - A&R Factory

2014- A Place To Be
2018- The Place That I Call Home

Known for his crisp, soulful music and mysteriously suspenseful voice, Bentley Caldwell is returning music fans to their roots. His captivating lyrics and honest sound are commanding attention from the folk-soul world, which has been desperately lacking an artist of his caliber for too long. Raised in Paducah, Kentucky, he starting singing in both youth and men's choir in his hometown Baptist church. Bentley's mother, a major impact on his life and music aspirations, passed away suddenly in 2013, which kindled a dark, but introspective time for him. Working through the pain from the loss of his mother, Bentley channeled his energy into recording his first EP, titled A Place To Be, and released it on her birthday that following March. Bentley's soulful catalog seems as though it would be more at home in a dusty old record shop, but is characterized by his thrilling lyrics, which soothe the ear of the 21st century. Influenced by artists such as Ray Charles and Teddy Pendergrass, his sincere tone resonates similarly with the singing style of John Legend or Amos Lee. Caldwell just released his first full length album, "The Place That I Call Home" and it is available on all digital media platforms!
