Whiskey Kiss

Written By: Ben Tyler Johnson

Jerry worked the line, 80 hours a week.
He'd come home dog tired, just a dead on his feet.
And Johnny was a young girl, she was pretty as she could be.
Jerry's angel, but I never saw her wings.

Jerry gave Johnny one last whiskey kiss.
She could always, always just a taste it on his lips.
He said I'm goin to heaven tonight and I hope to see you there.
And Johnny don't forget your wings, I know you got a pair.

And a few years later, he bought a ring for her left hand.
And Johnny be my woman, I'll do the best that I can.
But things they didn't go as planned.
Aw, Johnny seemed to understand, just how a man can get caught up in the lights.

Jerry gave Johnny one last whiskey kiss.
She could always, always just a taste it on his lips.
He said I'm goin to heaven tonight and I hope to see you there.
And Johnny don't forget your wings, I know you got a pair.

No more cigarettes, no more whiskey on my breath.
Yeah cause Johnny, your love is all that I've got left.

Jerry gave Johnny one last whiskey kiss.
She could always, always just a taste it on his lips.
He said I'm goin to heaven tonight and I hope to see you there.
And Johnny don't forget your wings, I know you got a pair.

Get Away

Written By: Ben Tyler Johnson

Well Bobby's standing in the pouring rain.
Bobby's waiting on the end of Main with his hand in his pocket, just a rattlin' change.
A nervous man any one could tell.
Bobby spent his whole life in a wishin' well and tonight Bobby's headin' straight for hell.
And Jenny's waitin' just up the block.
Two streets down in a get away car and ever since highschool, well they were sweethearts.

But tonight their luck is gonna change.
And Bobby's gonna buy Jenny that diamond ring.
And if only, and if only, they make a get away.

Well Bobby busted in the door.
Everyone stick 'em up, hit the floor. Put the money in the bag and no one gets hurt.
Don't try to be a hero sir.

And with a Colt 45 he wasn't scared to use.
Bobby said he had nothin', nothin' to lose and the look there in his eyes, cause somehow they knew.

But tonight his luck is gonna change.
And Bobby's gonna buy Jenny that diamond ring.
And if only, and if only, they make a get away.

Well Jenny's comin' around the block.
Bobby jumped in, the car never stopped. And they figured they'd make the border 'bout 5 o'clock.
They never made it past the city limit sign.
Road block, red and blue lights, some blood stains and bullet holes but they put up one hell of a fight.

And tonight their luck is gonna change.
And Bobby's gonna buy Jenny that diamond ring.
And if only, and if only, they make a get away.

Trouble Was My Middle Name

Written By: Ben Tyler Johnson

Stoplight awaitin' for me out on the edge of town.
And I chased the evening sun on its way down.
And I never really liked this place you know this town was a damn disgrace.
But it is where I spent 20 years worth of wasted days.
Still they claim, trouble was my middle name.

Trouble was my middle name.
Point your finger, 'cause I'm to blame.
Sit back and smile, watch it all go up in flames.
Trouble was my middle name.

I knew the ins and outs of this messed up little town.
And rumors spread like wildfire my reputation it got around.
And they said I'll never make it anywhere 'cause I ain't got the right last name.
But I stand up proud 'cause it's the one my granddaddy gave.
Still they claim, trouble was my middle name.

And trouble was my middle name.
Point your finger, 'cause I'm to blame.
Sit back and smile, watch it all go up in flames.
Trouble was my middle name.

This is where I was born and raised.
It's probably where I'll die.
It's no use to try and make it out. You'll never make it out alive.
You can run but you can't hide.
Still they claim, trouble was my middle name.

Trouble was my middle name.
Point your finger, 'cause I'm to blame.
Sit back and smile, watch it all go up in flames. Yeah.
Trouble was my middle name.
