"Ben tunes in to pen pop song"

Ben tunes in to pen pop song
16 July 2009
A SINGER/SONGWRITER from Eastbourne is on a mission to bring back summer as the Met Office predicts a warm, dry summer and temperatures soar.
Ben Westwood has just recorded a song titled Summer's Coming Back Again to celebrate the good weather forecast, in the hope of encouraging Brits to make the most of the UK sunshine in the midst of the current economic climate.
Eastbourne Borough Council cabinet member for tourism, Councillor Susan Morris said, "Eastbourne is proud of its status as the sunniest place in the country and it seems very fitting that a local musician has decided to celebrate British sunshine and record this song.
"With more Brits expected to holiday in the UK this year as the 'staycation' becomes more popular, it is perfect timing to get everyone in the mood for a long, hot summer."
Ben has also launched an online petition to bring back summer to Britain with his dedicated website already attracting thousands of hits worldwide, with more than 100 people signing the petition so far.
Ben said, "There's an upside to the economic crisis and more people will be holidaying in the UK at south coast resorts. I'll be spending this summer on the Sussex coast and I'm sure plenty of Brits will do the same."
The song is already available to listen to on and can be bought online from Amazon and Emusic, plus visitors can download the song for free from Eastbourne's official tourism website,
With copies of the song being distributed around the town, Ben is hoping that Summer's Coming Back Again will become the anthem of Eastbourne's summer.
His debut album Keep Dreaming is out later this month.
