The Berkshire Bateria has been delighting audiences in New England and beyond since 1994. The performers which can number from eight to thirty play a variety of Brazilian Carnaval rhythms on traditional percussion instruments. The excitement and high energy level is contagious and really gets the crowd dancing! The band can appear in number of formats: There is an interactive component available, the "Joy of Samba" polyrhythm workshop where over 50 instruments are handed out to engage the audience. Or a melodic element "Bossa Triba" can be added with guitar, piano, bass, drum set, sax, flute,and singers. The talented and vibrant drummers alone canplay sets of 15 to 45 minutes on stage fully mic'd or acoustically, strolling through the crowd and stopping to highlight the soloists. They annually perform at New York City's biggest street festival, Brazilian Independance Day, and the Provincetown Portuguese Festival,as well as many nightclubs and theaters, including the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas.
