With her home lost in Katrina, Beryl sings the joys of her faith to touch other hurting souls...a connection validated by fan response. On her "Amazing Graces" CD, Beryl included 2 of her original songs, 1 of her Dad's, and 4 of other "new" composers; also "back-up" vocals by a children's choir.

Biography

BERYL QUINTON - Artist (Vocalist/Keyboard) featured on EWTN and among winners in 2009 International Christian Art Competition, Song/Music Category, sponsored by Stephen Sawyer's Art4God website. Born to a musical and God-centered family, with radio/TV/stage performances as a child, Beryl’s experience ranges from a “doo-wop” group in high school, to her own rock band, raising 5 children, singing in the “Papal Choir” during Pope John Paul II’s visit to New Orleans in 1987, and a group musical ministry at her parish churches for over 25 years. Beryl was once the Civilian Personnel Director for the Eighth District of the U. S. Coast Guard; and, after completing her Federal career, was Choir Director at St. Louis Cathedral Catholic Elementary School from 2001-2004. In 2002, under her direction, her "children" performed their gospel music at the New Orleans Jazz Fest. A descendant of the Caruso family, Beryl's father David was a Plumber and a New Orleans composer with a couple of notable compositions back in the 20's; her mother, a schoolteacher; and her brother David Jr., an attorney, the composer of the title song of her first CD "Like The Seagull."
Having survived her own personal tragedies -- including the loss of a child, her teenage daughter, in a fatal automobile accident -- through the years, Beryl has poured the emotion of losses and faith into her music. That is what her music ministry is all about... connecting with persons seeking God's presence, and also with hurting souls needing God's intervention in the midst of crisis or tragedy. Fan response to her music validates this connection. More recently, with their home in New Orleans destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, relocating to Baton Rouge LA, and now permanently relocated to Tennessee.  Beryl and her husband Juan are grateful for their survival and recovery from the storm, and also for their blessings of talent, love, and the opportunity to share with others their abundant love of Jesus Christ through their music.
JUAN QUINTON, JR. - Artist (Vocalist) and Percussionist. Juan is (as of 2010) retired from his primary career in law enforcement with the New Orleans Police Department. His musical heritage carries on to the fourth generation of his family a name which originated with his great-grandfather Juan Bautista Quinton, a composer and organist who studied at the Conservatory of Paris before moving to Puerto Rico. Juan's grandfather Jose Ignatio Quinton later became one of the island's most celebrated composers, known especially for his Danzas and Requiem Mass. Juan's father Bobby Quinton was a pianist known for his "Bach to Boogie" at locations such as Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop, La Lune, and Bobby Quinton's Lounge on Tulane Avenue in New Orleans.
BERYL AND JUAN have been in the photography business from 1983 until December 2012.  Both she and Juan were in rock bands in the early years, but it was at St. Dominic over 25 years ago that they met, both having joined the "Contemporaries," a guitar group in which they participated until the end of August 2006. "Endless Love," one of the tracks on "Amazing Graces," was their first duet sung at a friend's wedding. They are now members of the congregation at the 5:00 p.m. mass at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Maryville, Tennessee.
In the production of "Amazing Graces," the musical depiction of a Christian lifetime, their home in New Orleans (pre-Katrina) was utilized as a "recording studio," and Beryl did the pre-mixes before bringing the tracks to Marc Hewitt at Sound Services Studio in New Orleans for final mixing and mastering. She also prepared the CD artwork for the cover, traycard and discface.
As an independent Christian recording artist, Beryl has released three CD's and a music video distributed throughout the United States, and also to other parts of the world, including Australia, England, Ireland and China. Her songs/albums are also available for downloads on major internet sites, such as, Napster, iTunes, and Rhapsody.
Beryl's CD releases and music video have been recognized in nationwide U. S. competition sponsored by the United Catholic Music and Video Association (UCMVA), reaching finalist status in both 2002 and 2005 Awards. Her music has also been accepted by the Catholic cable network EWTN, to be featured in their programming.

Lyrics

Amazing Grace (

Written By: Public Domain

1) Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see
2) 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed
3) Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come
"Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home
4) The Lord has promised good to me; His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be, as long as life endures.
5) Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil, a life of joy and peace
6) When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise than when we first begun

Blessings

Written By: Beryl Quinton

THE LOVE OF GOD BE WITH YOU FROM DAY TO DAY
MAY HIS LOVE BLESS YOU AND SHOW YOU THE WAY
1) Life with its pleasures, life with its tears, a gift from above
Trust in His goodness, He'll calm all your fears
2) Whatever your trials, He's your inspiration.
He'll help you stand tall
Your sins He forgives whenever you fall
3) He gave up His life that we may live
His precious blood He shed
That we may believe, He rose from the dead
4) Bring Him devotion, sing Him a song
Lift up your face
He'll help you along. Your cares He'll erase.

Following Christ

Written By: Beryl Quinton

1) Church bells chime; you enter for the first time
In your parents' arms, your life begins
Candles lit, water poured
Blessed and anointed, you're bathed in the waters
Prayers and promises recited for you;
Those who love you best are filled with joy
The sacrament of Baptism cleanses your soul
The first step on your journey
YOU'RE... FOLLOWING CHRIST, FOLLOWING CHRIST
GOD'S NEW CREATION, TRANSFORMED BY HIS LOVE FOR YOU
2) As a little child, you grow in wisdom
Knowing that one day you will receive
Your First Communion, bread and wine
Body and blood of our blessed Lord Jesus
Once again the bells ring out to greet you
Joyful is their welcoming refrain
Jesus Christ comes to you
Nourishing body and soul by His presence
YOU'RE... FOLLOWING CHRIST, FOLLOWING CHRIST
TRUSTING IN HIM AS YOUR JOURNEY CONTINUES
Confirmation Day, joyful bells ring out
Fire of the Spirit fills your soul
Now you can renew promises made for you
You are a soldier of Christ
3) Challenges and choices fill your journey:
College, marriage, children, holy life
Bells proclaim joys and pain
A lifetime that's filled with the blessings of Jesus
Chiming bells ring out again to meet you
Relatives and friends are at your side
With fond farewells, they celebrate
The years of your life and your birth into Heaven
YOU'RE... FOLLOWING CHRIST, FOLLOWING CHRIST
TAKING HIS HAND NOW YOU FOLLOW... FOLLOW HIM HOME

The Garden

Written By: Lisa Janusa

1) One night in a garden, our dear Lord prayed
And wept tears of sorrow for mankind's mistakes
He suffered alone, for His friends were asleep
For no one knew the pain that He'd meet
OH FATHER IN HEAVEN, LET THIS CUP PASS ME BY
(My Father above...take this cup from me)
OUR DEAR LORD CRIED
(For my heart is breaking)
STILL LET IT BE AS YOU WOULD HAVE IT, NOT AS I
(Thy will be done, on heaven and earth, not as I)
2) An angel came to strengthen Him
To calm and soothe His fears within
But sweat as drops of blood ran down
And fell beside Him on the ground
3) And so began Christ's final days
When through His passion He would be raised
He'd fulfill the scriptures and die on the cross
To save the souls that would have been lost

America, God's Country

Written By: David E. Caruso, Sr.

AMERICA, GOD'S COUNTRY
NOTE: Originally composed in 1926 by the artist's father, David E. Caruso, Sr. and written in the traditional "march-tempo" format of his era, Beryl took the liberty of updating his song and putting a New Orleans spin on it. After the first (almost-traditional) verse, the tempo transitions into what is believed to be the first patriotic second-line in New Orleans musical history.

HERE ARE THE LYRICS:
It's grand to be living in a freedom-loving land
Where skies are always blue above
It's grand to be living in a freedom-loving land
America, it's you I love
REFRAIN
America, God's Country, it's our land, it's so grand, yes siree
America, God's Country, it's our land, it's so grand to be free
What a grand old flag is our red, white and blue
God gave us our land with His blessings so true
America, God's country, three cheers for the red, white and blue

Promised Land

Written By: Larry Briant

PROMISED LAND
1)They say the grass is green as jade in the promised land;
And mossy trees give endless shade in the promised land;
And crystal waters flow like wine, I understand.
I’m going there, going there.
I’m told the sky is sapphire blue in the promised land;
And rain will never cloud the view in the promised land;
And Jesus rules as Lord of all at God’s right hand.
I’m going there, going there.
I WANT TO GO WHERE THE MILK AND HONEY FLOW,
WHERE JESUS IS THE LIGHT, WHERE HE’S BUILDING ME A HOME. OH, I WANT TO BE WHERE MY FATHER WAITS FOR ME, LONGING FOR THE DAY I FINALLY STAND IN THE PROMISED LAND.
2)I hear the days are timeless there in the promised land.
And heartache doesn’t have a prayer in the promised land.
And praises of our God are sung by ev’ry man.
I’m going there, going there.
No need to beg or borrow, nothing else to bring along,
In a land where there’s no tomorrow,
‘Cause today is forever long. REFRAIN

I Will Praise the Lord All My Life

Written By: Fr. Cayet Mangiaracina, O.P.

I WILL PRAISE THE LORD ALL MY LIFE

(NOTE: Father Cayet has released this song to me, for whatever purpose is deemed appropriate.)

REFRAIN:
I will praise the Lord all my life
I will sing His praise while I live
I will praise the Lord all of my life, all my life.

1) He made the earth and sky
His mighty works are seen
My life is from the Lord
My life is from the Lord my God, my God
REFRAIN

2) My hope is in the Lord
In whom there is salvation
What joy He gives to me
What joy the Lord gives to me, to me
REFRAIN

3) He fills my lonely heart
His presence gladdens my soul
How good He is to me
How good the Lord my God is to me, to me
REFRAIN

4) He fills me up when I am down
And renews my wearisome soul
I rejoice in the Lord
I rejoice in the Lord, my God, my God
REFRAIN

Jesus, I Trust In You

Written By: Mike Doyle

REFRAIN:
Jesus, I trust in you
Lord of Lords, Prince of Peace
Humble Shepherd, too
The fountain of mercy
and love so true
Jesus, Lord, I trust in you

1) Bring to me all sinners
Immerse them in my love
And bring to me the clergy
Anointed from above
Then bring to me the faithful
They help to ease my pain
All these and more I died for
That they might live again
REFRAIN

2) Bring to me the doubtful
For one day they will see
And those who turn their backs to
my praises constantly
Then bring to me the humble
And all my little ones
To share in life eternal
The Father sent His Son
REFRAIN

3) Those who praise my mercy
Abide within my heart
And souls who know my justice
Their debt will soon depart
I call out to the selfish
The arrogant, the proud
Accept my gift of mercy
And come before me bowed
REFRAIN

4) Glorify My mercy
And venerate my name
Now pray my message daily
My promises proclaim
Go share my words with all faiths
I love them all the same
for soon I come in triumph
And glorious my reign
REFRAIN

By My Side

Written By: Thomas J. Porter

Stand by my side
Offer your hand
As I am off'ring you
To have and to hold
Together we'll grow into
The image of the Father
Reflecting love in one another
For on this day
And for all time
I choose you

With faith as our guide
And love in our eyes
We share these words today
The promises made
Will strengthen us on our way
The journey that's beginning
Is built on love that has no end
With God in our lives
And you standing by my side

Bridal Prayer

Written By: Roger Copeland

Here -- in this holy place
As we stand before the Father
And stand before the Son

Here -- in this quiet hour
In the presence of the Spirit
Our lives become as one

To listen when He calls us
To follow where He leads
To be the kind of servants He needs

Here -- in these sacred vows
We pledge our lives together
To love and serve in Jesus' name

Amen, amen

Endless Love

Written By: Lionel Richie

My love
There's only you in my life
The only thing that's right
My first love
You're ev'ry breath that I take
You're ev'ry step I make
And I...
I want to share all my love with you
No one else will do
And your eyes...
Your eyes, your eyes...
They tell me how much you care
Oh yes, you will always be
My endless love

Two hearts
Two hearts that beat as one
Our lives have just begun
Forever (forever)...
I'll hold you close in my arms
I can't resist your charms
And my love (my love)
I'll be a fool for you
I'm sure...
You know I don't mind
(Oh, you know I don't mind)
'Cause you...
You mean the world to me
Oh, I know (I know)
I've found in you
My endless love

(Bell sounds/vocal)

Oh love (oh love)
I'll be that fool for you
I'm sure...
You know I don't mind
(Oh you know I don't mind)
And you...
You'll be the only one
And no one can deny
This love I have inside
I'll give it all to you
My love, my love, my love
My endless love

Somewhere Out There

Written By: James Horner, Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil

Somewhere Out There

Somewhere out there beneath the pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me and loving me tonight

Somewhere out there someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another in that big somewhere out there

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true
