Bio

Best of Seven’s Everything is New Again heralds the arrival of a naturally gifted, radio-friendly band that places as much emphasis on songwriting smarts and brotherhood of the band as they do on flat-out rock ’n’ roll. Recorded at West Hollywood’s world-famous Cherokee Studios (which has hosted Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith, David Bowie and Queens of the Stone Age, among others) Everything is New Again celebrates that magic mix of tight bonds and loose morals in small-town middle America.

And while Best of Seven’s wild boys currently walk the mean streets of Los Angeles — appearing on a regular basis at Hollywood clubs such as the Viper Room — the group traces its roots back to Peoria, IL, where Shane Tassart (vocals, guitar) and Rob Wood (drums) first teamed up in a previous band. The duo re-located to Los Angeles a years later and solidified the line-up with Joe Casey (lead guitar & vocals).

Best of Seven quickly hit the live performance circuit in earnest, building a following that grew purely by word-of-mouth — nearly 10,000 fans have registered as friends of the band on www.myspace.com.
Best of Seven entered the studio in January 2004 win a collective mindset to create an album that matched Cheap Trick’s classic rock bravado with the modern pop sensibilities of acts such as the Goo Goo Dolls and All American Rejects. Everything is New Again captures the chaotic power and emotion of the band’s live shows, with a wall of warm, vintage-sounding guitar and cannon-like drums; you’ll quickly see why Best of Seven have won praise for their songwriting smarts and a raw, unprocessed sound.

“Mark Ratner,” the new single from Everything is New Again, is currently receiving spins and nods from more than 100 stations nationwide, including Freshblend Radio, Rock 105.7, and 98.3 KICA. Best of Seven’s concentrated specialty radio push will begin in 2005, setting the stage for their upcoming tour.
