"Artist Review, by Susaye Green of The Supremes"

Bethany Saint Smith has the instincts of an aged American blues singer. Though she's very young, there is a tug in the heart when you hear her sing, that grabs you and makes you wonder what she's lived through. She reminds me of the earthy Odetta of 60's Folk/rock fame, or of Nina Simone's scathingly sophisticated perceptions of life.
I look forward to hearing her grow as an artist. With a good blues rock band, this girl can go to far places.
Bethany says:" I can't express my excitement enough about the happenings of music and the life beyond it. I love writing and composing." There's something about being on stage and belting a song I wrote.... people listening to it and being amazed or moved. It moves me right back." Bethany Saint Smith

Bio

Bethany Saint Smith has a tone that sets her apart from any other young woman in the nation, she brings your ears to a hault. Her band infuses with her to create an ensamble that floods a room with earthy blues and prosperous agendas. She has brought it forward, creating sounds from a past time of early 60's style Odetta, Nina Simone, Etta James, Aretha Franklin... and you can even hear the plots of Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf and let's not forget the foundation of Big Mama Thorton. Bethany takes this generation of blues strait out of the Mississippi Delta and floods your mind with wonderous propositions that make you think twice if you'll be alright. She has worked with many talented artists here in New York City to keep her keepin' on the path of what old time blues can bring to any table.

Bethany was born and raised in Modesto, California, spent some years in San Francisco, then drove accross the country to New York to find a sound that could complicate things. Here you have it, Bethany Saint Smith & The Gun Show.
