Bio
I am Beth Mburu-Bowie, I make Rabid Ballads.
Rabid Ballads are passionately unorthodox, off-kilter, & mercurial musical experiments in pop song.
They are ambitious, bold, catalytic, childlike, curious, deranged, dirty, dizzy, eccentric, visceral, wayward, witty, wrong, zealous songs.
Previous to this, I contributed to a diverse range of musical projects; my first composition was sampled by Asian Dub Foundation for their 2005 release 'Tank'', short-listed as a finalist for the £40,000 BBC MUSIC BURSARY as a composer - I was the only female + composer in the shortlist.
I have also sung Great Gig in The Sky with members of Pink Floyd for a very special one-off performance, whilst studying with the English National Opera, toured as part of The Heavy, performed with Chuck Berry and Suggs, recorded with Does It Offend You..Yea, played for the Royal Opera House, and I am a former member of The Pipettes...but that became old, dead, stinky news once I was crowned King of Faux Pas.
