Bio

Betty Anne Northup (bettyannenorthup.com) is a passionate, engaging performer with an established professional career. Betty Anne's artistic influences to name a few, include Joni Mitchell, kd Lang, and Phoebe Snow. Her music is available on iTunes, Amie Street and Napster, and can also be enjoyed on MySpace.

Betty Anne hit the road with numerous bands right out of high school. Early in her musical journey, Betty Anne and her late husband Larry Christensen joined forces with Craig Brown to form the trio "Easy Street", and they toured Western Canada extensively.
After life on Easy Street, Betty Anne established herself as a studio and performing vocalist and musician. Betty Anne's musical course has never wavered. In 1996 she founded "Vernon Recording and Teaching Studio". She employs her polished and natural vocal skills to the benefit and delight of her students (http://bettyannenorthup.com/). On stage, Betty continues to weave a web of musical magic, showcasing her versatility with a variety of musical groups in the Vernon area, and also as a solo performer.

Craig Brown built upon his Music Major from Douglas College (New Westminster, which is near Vancouver, BC - home of the next Winter Olympics) by working as a studio musician, and performing with James J. Robinson, Webster and Company, Kettle Valley Brakemen, and Blackjack, from Vancouver to the Calgary Stampede, Toronto and Palm Springs, California. Craig is a multi-instrumentalist - guitar, trumpet (coronet), keyboard, mandolin, bass and drums. Craig recorded and independently released his first solo finger style guitar CD "Acoustic Salad, Electric Dressing" in 2001. One track from this CD (Steeplechase Lane) was featured on "Six Strings North of the Border, Vol 2" released by Borealis Records Toronto and produced by Bill Garret. This CD was nationally released in 2003, and is part of a 3-CD box set now in record stores across Canada. Craig released his second solo finger style guitar CD ("Main Course") in 2003, followed by "All Sides", which is also now available.

As fate would have it, these talented individuals have united to serve up a full-course helping of evocative folk ballads, touching love songs, americana, and even a bit of jazzy swing influence; appropriately seasoned with a sprig of edgy rock as required. We welcome you to this banquet of musical offerings, and hope that these songs bring some measure of joy and wonderment into your hearts.
