My influences range from all the deacons and ladies in the "amen corner" from my Church in Alabama, my mother Sybil, and her sangin', sister Aunt Bemp (that's where it all started), Tina Turner, Betty Mabry Davis, Prince, Billy Holiday, The Beatles, Hendrix, The Eagles, Coldplay, Zepplin, Alicia Keys, Cheryl Crow, Alanis Morrisette, Janis Joplin, Jay- Z, local artist Darren Rasser ...so many different artist for many different reasons...
What sets myself and my music apart from others in my genre is the songwriting, the energy on stage, and realness captured in the recordings. I am a southern born and raised girl, reared in the church, and daughter of a preacher man. You know the story...left my simple life at home and hopped on I-10 west on a Greyhound bus to California to hold that dream. Soon after I dismounted, I began writing songs for pop artist and had my first taste of success as I was signed to a publishing deal. That was short lived, and was, moreover, the catalyst for me to write my own story of songs and rise as an artist. So I picked up the guitar, familiarized myself again with the piano, and the rest is history....
