Bio
Beyond the Grove formed in October 2009. Getting the name from their hometown of Elk Grove California, they live by the saying There is always something better beyond the grove. A motto that pushes the envelope, encouraging positive growth to anyone who listens. BTG is Rock/Rap/Alt band now building a solid fan base and playing hip-hop shows, metal shows, and everything between. Influences range from Rage Against The Machine to Incubus and cross almost all genres of music.
In 2008 and early 2009 Band members Chris Hampton, Matt Storm, and Alex Storm were in Bad Rocket. An Alt/Rock band that had some success in Northern California. After separating with the singer they happened upon Jermaine Starks dominating karaoke in a local bar. Jermaine turned out to be a perfect fit and Beyond The Grove was born. J draws heavily from his own life experiences as seen in the song entitled Bad Rocket. The song is about Sept 11th, the event which motivated him to join the Marine Corps. Safely home from war USMC Corporal Jermaine Starks is putting his soul into the music and along with the band is delivering powerful and emotional performances.
They have completed 2 tours, The MastersplinTOUR which spanned 7 states and the Highway to Hempfest bus tour which covered the western US ending at the world famous Seattle Hempfest. BTG just wrapped recording on their first album titled Devotion in Dec 2010. Devotion was recorded and produced by Aaron Pauley the lead singer of Jamies Elsewhere. Aaron also guest stars on the track Rise Above. It will be available online and in stores Jan 22 2011!!!
