Bio

Beyond The Words, formerly known as aunamae, is a Christian Rock/Metal Band. Their music interweaves Rock, Progressive Metal, 80’s Hair Music, and Christian Folk Rock. The freshman album “Sling Shot” being released in 2010 is a collaboration of the band’s individual music styles. The band members influences are: Kutless, Skillet, Red, Fates Warning, Dream Theater, Yes, Journey, Rush, dada, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Symphony X.
“Sling Shot” was recorded at Mountainside Studios and produced by Richard Rescigno (Julianna Theory, Orel Thorpe, Joe Cirotti). The music is based on the saving message of Jesus Christ and the healing that comes from knowing Him. Every member of Beyond The Words is a testimony to what God can do when seeds are planted at a young age...even when life hurts.
Lauren “Auna Mae” Davis was contacted by Scott “Pastor Scott” Schmutz on MySpace two months after Lauren completed her first solo recording in February 2007. Scott intimated his knowledge of an available guitarist, Tim “The Velvet Warrior” Hall, who joined the band six months later. Two years after Tim, Joe “Miami Joe” Marvin came on board as the final member of Beyond The Words, completing the band.
Beyond The Words, has performed with Falling Up, Between The Two, House Of Heroes, and Project 86.
Lauren “Auna Mae” Davis has been singing professionally for three years. She has previously recorded with Darrell Lehman (Newsboys, MUTEMATH, Tree 63)
Scott “Pastor Scott” Schmutz has been playing bass professionally for six years. One year for each string on his bass.
Tim “The Velvet Warrior” Hall has been playing guitar professionally for twelve years.
Joe “Miami Joe” Marvin has been playing drums professionally for twenty-four years.
