Bio

b.forry

b.forry is the name of St. Charles, IL’s soon-to-be claim to fame. Churning out dark folk music from the depths of her soul, b.forry embraces life in all its glory – and shadow – and translates that into a passionate self-expression of one seeking to understand one’s place in the universe. In the process, she helps other find their niche too. Music is inspirational, even the dark stuff. Sometimes, especially the dark stuff.

Consumption

The right artist can make music that totally squeezes out “reality” and creates a world that is totally music. One of those is b.forry. For her music is “like my physical existence ceases to exist and all there is is music.” Her soulful experience as a songwriter is passed on to the listener, who finds him- or herself swept up in a spirit-sweeping experience. And b.forry’s music is also quite entertaining.

From Me

According to b.forry, music for her is not so much a conscience writing experience as it is a channeling. “I don’t control it. The music comes out of me the way it wants to. I sing from the emotion. The music is my journey.” Thankfully, fans are able to take this dark trek with b.forry, exploring other universes and the deep places within themselves as b.forry does the same via her songwriting and performing.

No Rest

Music is such a passion for b.forry that she is a slave to the pen. “I’m always writing; it won’t let me sleep.” She’s already recorded one album, an unplugged set that wows every listener. And a second is on the way, slated for completion in the spring. “Fairy Tales” will present to the world the stunning power of b.forry.

Old Passion

Her love of music goes back a long way, b.forry says. “I tried out for chorus in high school but I never had a voice. When I was 17 I had an accident where my throat was crushed. It took it several years to heal and when it did, I had a voice. By that time, I had damage to my left eardrum and I’m tone deaf. I learned to sing by matching the vibrations of the guitar to the vibrations in my throat.” She is currently working with A&R Select, Hollywood’s hottest independent A&R firm.

Review

“While b.forry’s music is striking enough as it is, when one realizes her challenges as a musical artist, one sees that her songs are feats of Herculean fortitude.” – A&R Select
