I've been in love with music since as far back as I can remember. I grew up in Fresno, CA listening to my mom sing along with every song on the radio. I wanted to be like mom so I started singing too and before long I was singing without the music even being there.
I became serious about wanting to perform in jr. high when I began learning to play bass and listening to a much broader range of music including punk, metal, jazz, electronic triphop.
I started playing at my church and became a worship leader with my youthgroup for a while. I fronted my first band in high school and have fronted several since. I decided to pursue a solo career after much prodding from friends and family. I'd already been writing songs for years and felt it was time to go it alone.
Shortly after I came over to Live Music City and met the members of the collective with which I work. This took my music in a more urban direction and "Communique" was born. This project fuses my RnB influences from my childhood and a mix of TripHop, downtempo and electropop.
While it's a departure from my acoustic music I also play acoustic renditions of all my songs. I love to give a different experience every time I perform. Whether I arrange my music with a group of fellow musicians or I perform Communique with a DJ or I perform solo acoustic I always deliver my own brand of experimental soul.
