bHaskins and 3rd Floor originated 6 years ago when Bryan Haskins, John Jackson, Romel Gibson and Ernest Echols met in College while pursuing music degrees. Each member of the band was exploring his individual goal to become a professional in the music industry and we each made significant strides. Bryan is well known as an accomplished background singer and Solo Artist with an extensive resume to include Birmingham’s own American Idol winner, Ruben Studdard. John is an accomplished musician, producer and writer who produced Greater New Testament’s Gospel CD, Assignment #1 , which was nominated for several Dove awards in 2005 in addition to playing for several R&B artist. Romel is an accomplished drummer and songwriter with several world-renowned credits. Earnest is a brilliant composer and trumpeter with noted accomplishments include composing the horn arrangements for Lisa McClendon and other tour bands. We soon realized that although we were good by ourselves we are wonderful together. Last year Bryan’s single, “More Than Anything was chosen out of thousands of entries by Broadcast Music, Inc. to be listed on the Urban Sampler which showcases new talent throughout the world. Our formal training ranges from Classical to Jazz and Gospel with instrumental accomplishments ranging from the piccolo to the sousaphone. We are earning a reputation for ourselves locally and nationally and have been invited to several venues to showcase our talent in 2006. What sets us apart from others is our sound. We have revolutionized that old- school flavor by combining our talents to create a sound that is appreciated by all audiences. We can easily mix a set with Rock, County and R& B that leaves audiences amazed at our versatility and scream for encores.
