Ca$hville, Tennessee’s own B-Hoody has been on our radar for a few years and more recently as of late since the original release of his “Properly Preserved” mixtape over the summer with some of us behind the scenes here feeling he’s ready for that limelight now. Here, we get an EP for his “Properly Preserved” project which is package of his best music showing his musical grown and quality content he’s capable of releasing as we thankfully have no features with production handled by Jae Monee, Matthaus Beatz, Tony Gardner, Sir Money and BandPlay. While traveling and recording material for his upcoming "Things Have Changed" album, B-Hoody accumulated several tracks that didn't make the project. Rather than leave them on the cutting room floor, the Nashville native decided to combine them in to not one, but two free projects his loyal fans can enjoy! #PreRolledJs presented by DJ Burn One and #PreRolledLs presented by Zach Boog of Nashville's 101.1 The Beat Jamz, is a compilation of 16 brand new tracks sure to give fans a taste of what "Things Have Changed" has to offer. - ALLRAPHIPHOP
Nashville, Tennessee rapper B-Hoody offers up his first EP and most consistent effort to date with his Properly Preserved EP. Featuring soulful samples from the 60's and 70's and a smoked out demeanor, B-Hoody rides each track with ease.

On a eu la chance d’obtenir il y a quelques jours la première interview en France du rappeur originaire du Tennessee, B-Hoody.
Vous avez découvert récemment son dernier projet, Properly Preserved, pour lequel on a eu pas mal de retour positif. Dès le début B-Hoody tiens a se présenter au public français, "Salut à tous, c’est Hoody-B originaire de Nashville, Tennessee. Je remercie toutes les personnes qui ont téléchargé le nouvel Ep "Properly Preserved'" via Ganjsky.com."
Et comme tout Rappeur Us digne de ce nom, Hoody-B aime la Ganj’, "Si vous aimez ma musique, asseyez-vous, rouler vous un joint de votre médicinale favorite et laissez-vous emporter dans les rues de Cashville où j’ai appris le rap Game."
Élevé dans un ménage monoparental, Hoody-B, alors âgé de 7 ans, déménage à Oakland en Californie, pour revenir à Nashville peu après.
"J’aime Nashville, TN, cette ville a fait de moi qui je suis. Désormais j’y suis seulement l’été car j’ai passé 2011-2012 en tournée. Je suis heureux d’être de retour à la maison et de voir que j’ai inspiré tant de gens à poursuivre leurs rêves."
Et lorsqu’on lui demande si c’est difficile de percer dans le rap dans une ville du Tennessee ou le rap n’avait jamais exploser voilà ce qu’il nous répond – "Grandir en "Central Country Music'" en tant qu’ artiste hip-hop n’est pas facile, mais cela m’a permis de cultiver un son unique . Le milieu dans lequel j’ai grandi, où on aspire tous à une certaine liberté de l’esprit, m’a poussé à écrire, faire de la bonne musique, et tout ça en fumant de la bonne weed ! Lol."
‘PRENDRE VOTRE TEMPS, ÊTRE PATIENT, REFLECHIR’
Si l’on traduit littéralement le titre de l’Ep, Properly Preserved sur internet, on tombe sur "Correctement Conservé". Autant dire qu’on en sait pas plus . Voilà justement les explications du principal intéressé, "Properly Preserved, signifie prendre son temps, être patient, réfléchir avant d’entamer quelque chose, et c’est ce que je ressens en ce moment, j’ai choisi ce titre en fonction de mon état d’esprit actuel."
À la question, "Pourquoi avoir choisi le même titre que ta première mixtape", B-Hoody répond : "Après la sortie de ma précédente mixtape "Properly Preserved'" l’an dernier, je me suis senti enclin à sortir un EP éponyme pour pousser plus loin l’étape d’un mouvement. Après la Mixtape j’ai pris six mois pour bosser quelques visuels, faire quelques dates, et travailler sur l’EP. Ayant eu de très bon retours, j’ai voulu amener le projet à un autre niveau ."
Il a également grandi influencé par le succès des Rappeur sudiste, "Je suis né en 1989, donc adolescent j’ai grandi en écoutant beaucoup de Lil Wayne et de Master P …". Puis on suivit les classiques : "je me rappelle que le premier album que ma mère m’ai acheté était "The Chronic'"." Pas étonnant comme cadeau venant de sa mère, accro à la Marijuana depuis le départ précoce du paternel. "En ce moment, j’écoute beaucoup de musiques différentes de Big Krit à Kendrick Lamar en passant par Lauryn Hill et The Fugees."
Au fur et à mesure de l’entretien, on remarque chez Hoody-B un professionnalisme certain. Notamment sur son agenda actuel – "Actuellement je travaille sur les visuels de l’Ep Properly Preserved disponible sur Livemixtapes.com. Je me prépare également au lancement de mon site officiel, ainsi qu’à ma participation au festival mythique SXSW." Un monument, l’un des plus grands festivals de musique des États-Unis. Le SXSW a aussi largement contribué au rayonnement musical de la capitale texane.
‘JE TRAVAIL ACTUELLEMENT SUR UNE MIXTAPE’
Il nous lâche même une exclusivité sans pour autant rentrer dans les détails – "Je travail actuellement sur une Mixtape mais je ne souhaite pas en dire plus pour l’instant. Je vous tiendrais au courant via Twitter."
On a remarqué à plusieurs reprises ces derniers temps la présence de Curren$y à ces côtes, il n’hésite pas à nous en parler – "‘Spitta’ est un mec cool. La première fois qu’on s’est rencontrés c’était pour "The Smokers Club Tour" à Atlanta. À la fin de son set, Method Man me l’a présenté en coulisses. Voilà comment on s’est rencontrés. J’ai entendu que"Jet Life Tour'" passait par Nashville, j’ai demandé à monter sur scène pour cette date. Ça tombait bien parce que je venais de sortir l’Ep Properly Preserved et le premier clip le même jour ! J’aimerai bien me retrouver en studio avec lui un jour … Ça pourrait être cool !"
On conclut l’entretien en lui demandant si comme Kendrick, Asap, RickRoss où tant d’autres, on va pouvoir le voir rapper devant la Tour Eiffel un jour. Il nous répond : " Vous pouvez compter là-dessus ! Je suis sûr que vous allez me voir d’ici peu ! Impatient d’être devant la tour ! "

Nashville, Tennessee’s B-Hoody was raised on the east side of what former G-Unit rapper Young Buck has often called Cashville, Ten-a-key. Raised in a single parent household, B-Hoody moved to Oakland, California when he was 7 years old and then moved back to Nashville shortly thereafter. Growing up in a household where his absent father was an aspiring rapper named “Kool Daddy Fresh” and his mother was a frequent herb smoker B-Hoody’s image and likeness has largely been shaped by Hip-Hop and good ole’ mary jane. In between staying out of trouble with gangs and other negativity often seen in urban areas, B-Hoody was born into a life of lyric, music and herb.
“My mother smoked weed ever since I can remember, so when I decided to indulge, she didn’t trip too much,” B-Hoody said jokingly. “But in all honesty, I moved around a lot growing up, we didn’t have much but my mother always made sure me and my sis had nice things. I saw my fair share of the street life and gangs, but seeing that sh*t just made me realize who I was and who I wasn’t going to be. Music literally saved my life.”
Focusing on making music that is fun and that creates the soundscape of a laid back journey, Hoody has encouraged his fans to sit down with their favorite strand of mary jane as they take in his music.
“If you got big dreams and grew up with a struggle, you need my music in your life. If you want a blueprint on going from nothing to something and staying fly while u do it…you need this in your life.. This music is for your soul…its all about good chi,” a smoked out B-Hoody explained
The vision proved true as to day B-Hoody has been co-signed by a plethora of blogs and sites that are highly respected within the online Hip-Hop community. From Wendy Day to John Monopoly to DJ Smallz to Pesh from LiveMixtapes, B-Hoody has made his way around the industry developing relationship with a host of power players in the game.
Most recently B-Hoody took the stage at the Dub Magazine tour in several cities and in 2011-2012, B-Hoody did shows with Kendrick Lamar, CyHi da Prynce, Cory Gunz and many others as part of individual shows and the A3C Hip-Hop Festival. In the coming months B-Hoody already has a busy schedule planned with show in Nashville with Curren$y and Jackie Chain as part of The High Rollers Tour.
