Bio

Bianca West was born in Denver, Colorado as the 3rd of 5 children. At a young age, her father’s profession moved them to Salt Lake City where she remained during the rest of her tender years.

One of her Father’s musical gifts was playing classical piano,
Her Brazilian mother was a former classical ballerina.
So, naturally, Bianca was exposed to the musical arts early on. By age 3, she was enrolled in classical piano and ballet. And although she excelled in these areas, all she wanted to do was sing (a talent that hadn’t run in the family). Finally, after much pleading and bargaining she convinced her parents to enroll her in formal voice training at age 8.

Although classically trained, she would secretly listen to artists like Stevie Wonder, Aretha, Jackson 5, Teddy Pendergrass, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Prince, and Queen - to name a few.

Bianca joined a barbershop singing choir before she was a teenager. It was no surprise to her family when the group was invited to sing at Disneyland. During this time she continued formal classical voice training as well as piano, and ballet lessons. As if those were not enough extra-curricular activities to occupy every waking hour, Bianca seemed to always find time to audition for a role in one of the school or community theatrical productions.

She sang in “The Sound of Music,” “Annie Get Your Gun,” South Pacific and” “Les Miserables”, just to name a few.

She was president of her dance company.
She was president of the track and cross country teams.
And when it was time for college, Bianca won an academic leadership scholarship to the University of Utah.
Needless to say, Bianca graduated with honors and a degree in business.
Although she had fulfilled her parents’ wishes, Bianca’s dream was to pursue a career in music and drama.

Shuttling back and forth to California where she knew she could really fulfill her dreams, Bianca cemented relationships with music insiders and some very talented producers, engineers and songwriters.

Using money she had saved, Bianca recorded an entire album. One of the tracks off of that album generated some industry ‘buzz’ and needless to say, her recording career began.

As a singer/songwriter, she devotes her time to write and perform positive message pop music. Bianca has been fortunate to write and record with such mega writer/producers as Damon Sharpe (Jennifer Lopez/Mya), Lindy Robbins (The Backstreet Boys "Incomplete"), Younglord (Notorious B.I.G., 112), Steve Kipner (Natasha Bedingfield, Christina Aguilera), The BananaToons (Kelly Rowland, Jessica Simpson, 98 degrees, Amy Grant), SA Trackworks (Laura Pausini, Stacie Orrico), and Mike Reno (Loverboy).

After wrapping up her own recording career, Bianca continued to song write with some of Nashville’s top writers and producers (Danny Duncan, Joe Beck, Luke Sheets, Sarah Reeves). She now devotes her time and talents to songwriting for various recording artists in the Pop and Christian genres.

In late 2009, Bianca was awarded 2nd place in the International Contemporary Christian Songwriting Contest for the song 'You Can Be Loved' (co-written with Joe Beck). This song will be released in early 2010.
