"Taking their cue..."

“Taking their cue from arena rock acts such as Coldplay and the Police, BCR came to play. Powerhouse performers, they give the audience what they so desperately want.”

- Bud Light Downtown Live News, Raleigh, NC

"...is a heart-on-fire..."

“Big City Reverie … is a heart-on-the-line, wheels-on-fire Raleigh rock trio… rallying with the kind of fly-or-fail overcommittment that's marked Paul Westerberg's best”

- The Independent Weekly, Raleigh, NC

Bio

Big City Reverie is taking strides. Big ones. And people are beginning to notice. Since its inception in November of 2004, the band has relentlessly self-booked and self-promoted its way into a coveted position of respect in the North Carolina music scene.

Perennial live performers, Big City Reverie has found itself in the increasingly comfortable new skin of the recording artist. The band’s early demos, recorded with Dick Hodgin (Hootie and the Blowfish, Cravin’ Melon, Far Too Jones) at Osceola Studios, brought BCR to the attention of acclaimed producer Ted Comerford. Ted’s work with such acts as Lit, American Hi-Fi and Army of Me have earned him national renown in both the indie and major-label arenas. The first two singles piqued the interest of heavy-hitting engineer Paul David Hager (Butch Walker, Avril Lavigne, The Ataris) who signed on to mix Big City Reverie’s first two radio-ready tracks, “The Same” and “In Between.” The balance of the forthcoming album will be mixed by Mitch Easter of R.E.M., Wilco and Let’s Active fame.

The two initial offerings are now getting regular spins on Raleigh’s 88.1 WKNC and 96 Rock WBBB. Big City Reverie has allied with Deep South Entertainment (Marcy Playground, SR-71, Allison Moorer) as their iTunes A&R company. The advance tracks will be available for download in mid-April, with the completed album to follow in the Fall.

As of May 2007 Big City Reverie has announced its intent to sign a European release deal with Kickstart Music and Entertainment. The deal will include an intensive radio campaign and at the minimum one 20 to 35 date Scandinavian tour.
