Bio

FUNK:
1. It's a way to groove the music, to be funky (to be hip, loose, cool)
2. A type of popular music combining elements of jazz, blues, and soul, and characterized by syncopated rhythm with a heavy, repetitive bass line.

Big Delicious
n. (we are all people, places, and things)

Regardless of the definition, the NJ funk band "Big Delicious" really knows the true meaning.

Comprised of alumni from the Manhattan School and Berklee College of Music, these players take the syncopated sounds of James Brown, Marvin Gaye and Sly Stone and add a hip, contemporary aspect to the sound, soul, and energy.

Formed in the winter of 2006, Big Delicious has already achieved a sound and energy that most only dream about. These talented musicians have the skills and experience to do what it takes to draw a crowd into a dancing trance that is impossible to describe, but can only be understood by seeing them live.

Being a dynamic tight knit group is not the only way to describe the funk that comes out of these guys. A raw energy is portrayed with every note, syncopation, and horn hit.

Features of the band include: the front man Anthony D’Amato... imagine the stage presence of an energetic Broadway performer with the soul of the 70’s, who has toured the country as an MC. Straight off the road with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and the P-Funk Allstars is trumpet player John Hermann. Last, but certainly not least, is the group's musical director and guitarist, Zack Passman. Inspired by jazz great Miles Davis and band leader legend Frank Zappa, Zack is a virtuoso in many styles of music.

Big Delicious is not only the band name, but now the standard for a new funk sound that makes you just want to dance more and more and more....
