Bio
Big Door Open first started with Justin, Jason and Ross back in 2007, Nick was brought in on bass in 2008 and Steven joined in early 2010.
Throughout the journey the music we have chosen to make has influenced us all with refrences from other bands such as Dave Matthews Band, Porcupine Tree, John Mayer, the great Stevie Wonder to new Artists such as Ben Howard, Lissie and Bon Iver.
As a band we all have our different qualities about us, Jason Moate (Keyboards) & Justin Bulmer (Guitar/backing Vocals), being the relaxed chilled go home and put your slippers on types to Ross Vickery (Drummer), Steven Hayles (Me - Lead Vocals), Nick Latham (Bass Player), being the lets party and mingle types.
Our music I think speaks for it's self. It can be relaxed with the band favorite "Velvet Skies", to being heavy and groovy with a song called "Do You Know What It Is?" and to have soul with another favorite "All About You"
As other bands out there go at the moment we think the style has become quite generic, with it all being focused around the indie/pop scene. We want to break that mode and give people something different that they could possibly relate to and connect to and have a good time too.
So far the shows we have done have been given a fab turnout and amazing reception to where we have a spot at Glastonbobby 2012, and without having management may have a spot at Glastonbury 2013 so fingers crossed for that.
The story of BDO is just starting, not finished and not be missed..........
