"Get A Leg Up Semi-Finals Review"

"Few musical styles ever truly go away. Rockabilly has lots of followers, I recently got my hands on a great album that was influenced by the British Invasion, and disco has legions of fans in denial. If you never wanted grunge to go away, this band is for you. Or, if you just want music that's loud and hard and energetic, which we all do from time to time, these guys will get you what you need." - Pool Cleaners From Distant Planets

"The Westword's Dave Herrera's comments on our first show"

"Watching Big Green Lime, which did an outstanding job of channeling the songwriting of Kurt Cobain as filtered through Wes Scantlin, play to the same ten people was a stunning contrast, even with the technical difficulties that no one but the frontman seemed to notice. It was easy to picture this group playing to a packed house before too long." - Article Published by Westword Nov 11, 2004

Bio

While maintaining a carefree attitude, Big Green Lime have come a long way since their humble beginnings in Denver’s deepest dives. Started in the fall of 2004 by singer Chris Prolow and bassist Andy Page, the band established its self quickly on the Denver rock scene. Hard work and loyal fans have helped the band fill larger and larger rooms even attracting attention from local radio personalities such as the Fox’s Lewis & Floor wax. Their latest line-up includes long-time friend and producer Brian LaRue, formerly of Redline Defiance, on drums and Jake Ortiz, from Hip Not Fly, on guitar and keyboards. In November 2005, Big Green Lime released their first EP “Get Sick” and are planning to record a full length CD in the summer of 2006. The band’s summer plans also include a short tour and as drummer Brian LaRue so succinctly states “just hanging out and playing music”.
